Avondale aims to offer a homely environment. Those staying with us will be supported to lead as self-dependant a life as possible (this may be particularly important for those who have become reliant upon institutional care). It is considered essential to offer an individual planned care programme- everyone is different. So Far as is possible individual needs are catered for long as they do not impinge upon the well being of other in residence. We seek to avoid prejudicial attitudes on the basis of race, creed or gender

Family and Community

Avondale services recognises the importance of individuality and the individual as a part of a wider community. Recognition is made of the vital importance of mental illness on the family and the usefulness and impact of retaining good contrasts.

Therapeutic work and/or regular activities within the local community and, in accord with the care plan, specific arrangements for activities an be settled upon.

Religious Observance

Avondale will insure that residents will have the opportunity to follow their own religious persuasion.
